Cell Phone Policy

Here at Black Hawk Middle School they have recently came up with a Cell Phone Policy for the students. The rules of this policy is students can’t get on their phone for the entire day, but if a teachers phone goes off they are just fine. Here are some responses from the students at BMS, Moises ” Kind of helps with the rules, I fell it’s kind of hypocritical”. So then we ask the staff, Mr.Hoering said “Well I think it’s important that the teachers have their phones in case of a emergences” We asked a few more staff members and they said

the same thing as Mr.Hoering.

“The Cell Phone Policy is holding students back from playing on their phones in the middle of class” says Mrs. Frowning. Noah says “I think we should have a break in class where we can get on our phones and talk to friends”. 100 of the students were surveyed at BMS today and 95% of them said they disliked the phone policy. Here’s what the other 5% said, “I think that the Phone Policy is fair we don’t need to be on our phones in the middle of class, our classes are for learning”. One student even said, “I don’t think kids should even be allowed to bring their phones to school”.

50 staff members we surveyed and 98% said this, “The Phone Policy is COMPLETELY fair. They go home and do their homework then after their homework they play games and text on their phones all day. Then they go to their friends go outside play games, it is completely fair. The other 2% is Mr. Brown he said this, “These kid work all day so in lunch I think that they should have a little bit of time to get on their phone. That way they don’t get tempted to go play on there phone”. In the end, this school is fine with this Cell Phone Policy.
