S.E. Hinton’s book called the Outsiders mainly explains two teenagers Ponyboy and Johnny. They go to Windrixville to hide from the fuzz. They have to go to Windrixville because they killed someone. They are in a church because they have to stay there for a hiding spot. They are being chased for the murder of Bob (Socs). The main lesson from this story is violence is not the answer, it has consequences.
In the beginning of the story Ponyboy, Johnny, and Two-Bit walk with the Socs girls. And the Socs go by not noticing the first time but the second time they notice and warn them. Later on the Socs come after them and they attack Ponyboy and Johnny. They start to drown Ponyboy and then Johnny stabs bob which is drowning Ponyboy and they have to run away and hide from the fuzz. None of that would have happened.
The middle was the part of the story where they are being chased by the fuzz and they have to hide in a abandon church. But before that they had to go to a train to ride to Windrixville. They went to Dallas house and got a gun and 50 bucks to spend and protect themselves while in the church. While in the church they have to cut their hair because then they are disguised and won’t get caught by the fuzz. One day Dallas comes to get them and take them somewhere but when the come back to the church its burning down. There are kids inside of the church so Johnny and Ponyboy run in to save them. They save the kids and Ponyboy gets out but Johnny gets hit in the back by a huge burning log.
In the end of the story Johnny is in the hospital but he dies. This part of the story the mood is sad and depressing. And then Dallas goes to rob a gas station with a gun that’s not loaded. Then the fuzz come and shoot him down and then Dallas dies. At this point in the story if they never killed Bob then Johnny and Ponyboy and Dallas would be fine, and Johnny and Dallas would be alive. And Ponyboy would not have to go to court and get blamed.
